There is a hypothetical coffee cart named “Java Cart” at an open space in Anchorage. It has only one server, who works as a cashier and barista. Its coffee is so popular that once a customer arrives, he/she never gives up waiting in line until they order and get the coffee. Since it is in an open space, there is no limitation in the waiting space. The customer who arrives first is served first all the time. Interarrival times of customers have an exponential distribution with a mean of 1/4 hour regardless of the time of a day or week. The times needed for the server to receive order, process the payment, prepare coffee, and give it to the customer have an exponential distribution with a mean of 1/5 hour regardless of the time of a day or week. What is the expected waiting time in the waiting space and the expected number of customers in the waiting space?
