In this assignment you will write an essay of 750 to 1000 words, in which you refute (disprove) a false truth. A false truth is something many people believe is true, but that science has disproven.

To complete this assignment, you will need to:

2. Rely as much as possible on facts and data as evidence.

3. Write an essay using IEEE style that explains why this false truth is false and why it shouldn't be believed. Your audience is people in general who believe this false truth.

4. Include all references and citations in your essay in IEEE style.

5. Feel free to use photographs, charts, tables, etc, if you need to.

6. Use a combination of academic and popular (i.e., magazines, newspapers, etc) sources.

7. When you are finished, you will create and narrate a PowerPoint in which you present your argument visually and verbally.
