Assignment Instructions

For this assignment students will access the Online databases at CBU's Anne Gabriel Library and conduct a search of scholarly articles related to a topic of personal interest in the area of early childhood studies/early childhood intervention. Prior to beginning, you may want to read the information below about locating scholarly sources, and review any tutorials provided on the library website you think might be helpful (see links below). Completing this assignments involves identifying and researching a topic for your Literature Review due later in the course. To begin the assignment, go to Inside CBU and click on the link to the Anne Gabriel Library, then search the database for scholarly articles related to a topic of early childhood studies or early childhood intervention that you find interesting. Be sure to take plenty of time to identify a specific topic of interest with enough related research to write a 6 page literature review.

What to Submit:

Section 1:

For this assignment, you should submit a one page paper with two sections. Section 1 should be your topic title and an explanation of your topic.

Please identify your topic in the form of a question. For example, a suitable topic might be:

What is the effect of teacher's educational training on the outcomes of preschoolers with disabilities?
What is the importance of reading with preschool children within the home environment?
How can the reading literacy for K-2 students be improved?
How can parental involvement in a child's education be improved?
How can the problem of low test scores in math for fifth grade students be solved?
How can co-teaching practices in the middle school classrom be improved?
Section One should also include a paragraph explaining more about the topic, and why it interests you.

Section 2:

Section 2 should include a short reference list of three scholarly journal articles published within the past five years related to your topic. These references should be in perfect APA format. If the articles are not scholarly and not in you will have a significant points deduction.
