Minimum wage issues tend to obtain some media attention, but how effective are the changes? As of January 1, 2019 the minimum wage in Florida is $8.46. Think about that amount for a minute. Clearly it is not sufficient to live a life of luxury, but more importantly, is it enough to get survive on? Also to discuss: what is the effect of raising minimum wages to $15 and hour? Before responding to this post do a bit of research to see the impact (good or bad) in areas where the minimum wage is significantly higher than Florida. The city of Seattle and several others have raised their minimum wages so investigate some of these locations and report your findings. Feel free to add your own thoughts on where minimum wages should be and why.
