You are researching personal watercraft (PWC) safety. These vehicles have a well known safety issue in which the rider loses stearing control when there is no thrust from the engine. You want to know for what distance the rider loses control when the machine loses thrust at top speed. The particular PWC you are testing weighs 585 lbs (has mass 265 kg) and has a top speed of 8.0 × 101 mph (36 m/s). It takes 2.0 × 101 s for the watercraft to slow to a safe 2.25 mph (1 m/s). What is the distance covered in that time? Ignore air resistance.
