A double speed trap is set up on a freeway. One police car is hidden behind a billboard, and the other is some distance away under a bridge. As a speeder passes by the first trap, its speed is measured to be 105.9 mph. At this moment, the driver noticed the first trap and he slows the car down gradually without stepping on the brakes. His acceleration is constant. Exactly 7.05s later, the driver passes the second trap. Now his speed is measured to be only 67.1 mph. (a) Draw a sketch of the situation, representing the positions of the driver, his velocity and acceleration at the locations of the traps. (b) Calculate his acceleration. (c) What is the distance between the two traps? (d)Draw a a to scale position graph, velocity-time, and acceleration vector-time graph for the given time interval. Use 1mile=1.609 x 10^3.
A sphere of radius R is uniformly charged to a total charge of Q. It is made to spin about an axis that passes through its center with an angular speed ω. Find the magnitude of the resulting magnetic field at the center of the sphere.
