Analyze the dilemma of creating cohesive societies while preserving their distinct cultural identities (keeping in mind the key factor is tolerance).

(You can also think of the melting pot vs salad bowl approaches or if you prefer think of this as multiculturalism vs assimilation).

Think nationally and multi-culturally and then please answer all these questions:

What is the difference between tolerance and understanding?

How well do we know each other? How/why?

Nationally speaking, does knowing and interacting with each other help solve racial issues and build bridges across different groups? How/why?
