1. What is the difference between a discussion and a dialogue? Which is likely to be most prevalent in U.S. businesses? Why? What are the managerial implications of that prevalence? 2. Daft and Marcic note that “listening involves the skill of grasping both facts and feelings to interpret a message’s genuine meaning” (2017, p. 568). That seems simple enough, yet they also remind us that a huge percentage of managers fail within 18 months because of listening-related problems. So, listening evidently isn’t that easy. Why not?
