At a testing facility, both a rocket and a jet are to be compared on their performance. The jet was tested first. It started at rest and maintained constant acceleration for the entire trip. Next the rocket-it started from rest and accelerated uniformly until its fuel was exhausted, after which it moved with a constant speed. It was observed that this exhaustion of the rocket fuel took place as the rocket passed the midpoint of the measured test distance. It was recorded that both rocket and jet covered the test distance in exactly the same time.

a) what is the difference between a rocket and a jet.

b) find the ratio of the acceleration of the jet to that of the rocket.
