1. What is the difference between a need and a want? Then, list at least 5 different examples of human needs and wants.
2. Are the following needs or wants? Justify your answers. Car, cell phone, public parks/green spaces, air conditioning, bike path/lanes, air travel, paid vacation, leisure time.
3. Identify three generic examples of a public leisure/sport/tourism service and suggest in what way, if at all, the service can be said to be meeting a 'need'.
4. Rank the leisure/sport/tourism activities you have engaged in over the last couple of months (or ask a willing subject to do so) and rank them in order of importance. Draw a line dividing the activities into 'needs' and 'wants' and explain the rationale for this.
5. Nominate one leisure/sport/tourism activity and suggest one benefit and one dis-benefit which a facility for such an activity might generate for: users; members of the neighborhood/community in which it is located; and the environment.
