If the flowrate through the cracks is 5cfm (cubic feet per minute) and the air exchange rate of the basement is 0.25 exchanges/hour ( 1 exchange =1vol of the basement air is exchanged) and the volume of the basement is 100 m3. If the inflow air has no radon and the radon half-life is 3.2days. What is the concentration of radon in the basement. The foundation bed-rock has a concentration of 38 Bq/L (Assume steady-state conditions). Write the mass-balance equation and plot a conceptual model.
