SCENARIO

You are a manager with Bright Solutions, Inc located in Tacoma. Your division is being acquired by (sold to) Widgets Smidgets located in Phoenix, Arizona. As a part of the acquisition, all employees must either relocate to Phoenix and work for Widgets Smidgets or leave Bright Solutions. 

• Employees may not transfer to another department within Bright Solutions or try to be re-hired with Bright Solutions for 5 years post-acquisition. In other words, employees from your division must either work for Widgets Smidgets or be unemployed.

• Widgets Smidgets offers comparable salary and benefits
• Employees will retain accrued retirement benefits
• A relocation stipend will be provided to cover 100% of moving costs
• The cost of living is lower in Phoenix
• A decision must be made within 60-days of the announcement
• Employees that choose not to relocate will not be able to remain with Bright Solutions in any capacity
