Consider an arrival rate of 50 units/hour to a production line. The units must be processed at stations 1, 2, and 3, in that order. Station 1 has 2 parallel machines and each unit must spend 30 seconds at one of the machines. Station 2 has 5 parallel machines and each unit must spend 2 minutes at one the machines. Station 3 has 1 machine, with a processing time of 20 seconds, but 70% of the output from station 3 must be re-worked at machine 3 to fix quality defects. Units may be re-worked multiple times and have a 70% chance of needing re-work again each time.

1. What is the utilization of machine 3? Give your answer as a percentage (i.e. if the utilization is 50%, write 50 in the answer box).

2. What is the bottleneck rate?   Give your answer in units/hour (but only write the numeric answer, not "units/hour," in the answer box).
