In this problem take right as positive and up as positive (regular coordinate system). A rocket ship has anx-acceleration of 40.0 m/s/s left. It has a y-acceleration of20.0 m/s/s up. The starting velocity of the rocket is v= +100.0i + 0.0j. (Here i = “x hat” unit vector and j = “y hat” unit vector). The object’s acceleration is constant throughout the motion.

1. What is the object’s speed after 2.0 seconds, approximately?

2. What is the average velocity of this object from t = 0 to t= 2 seconds, approximately?

3. If the object started at the origin, what is the direction and magnitude, approximately, of its position vector 2.0 seconds later?
