The Earth rotates on its axis once every 24 hours, and circles the Sun once every 364.25 days. Using SI units (m, kg, s), compare the angular momentum of the Earth as it circles the Sun (treating the Earth as a point mass for this part and the Sun as the point to calculate angular momentum around) with the angular momentum of the Earth spinning on its own axis, as a rigid body. As viewed from above the Earth's North Pole, the Earth circles the Sun in a counter-clockwise direction, and also spins counter-clockwise on its axis.

A. What is the angular momentum of the Earth spinning on its own axis (magnitude and direction)?

B. What is the angular momentum of the Earth (treated here as a point mass) as it circles the Sun, with the Sun as the point to calculate angular momentum around (magnitude and direction)?

C. Which of A and B has the larger magnitude, and what is the ratio of the larger magnitude divided by the smaller?
