A rod of length l and uniform mass m is hinged at its lower end while it was held at rest in a vertical position. With a very slight push, the rod was let to fall under the effect of gravity. Assume no air resistance and no friction in the hinge. Define theta as the angle the rod makes with the vertical.

(a) What is the angular acceleration of the rod during the fall for a given theta?

(b) What is the angular velocity of the rod as a function of theta?

(c) Use your answers of parts (a) and (b) to verify that the total acceleration of a point on the moving tip of the rod at lowest point of fall (i.e at theta= 180 degrees) is 6g.
