First, download and open the dvd.save in SPSS. Conduct linear regression test in SPSS for:

  • Price (DV) and program (IV)
  • Price (DV) and features (IV)

Compute two scatterplot for a and b.

Question a. Which of the variable(s) is/are significant predicator of the selling price?

Question b. Provide interpretation and analysis of the regression coefficients and explain what they mean in terms of the effect of each IV on the DV.

Question c. What is the adjusted R squared value? Provide interpretation and analysis of its meaning.

Question d. Comment on the two scatterplots.

Formulate a set of null and alternative hypotheses to test for the predictive ability of those IVs (please remember that you should have a separate set of null and alternative hypotheses for each IV--please see the Guide to Hypothesis Writing in Student Resources>Guides and Checklists if you have questions).
