Question - What is your opinion on the following?

"According to the text, performance auditors can serve a variety of roles within a government organization. First, they can assist management by ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place and working as intended. Second, they could report to the public on the efficiency and effectiveness of the government's activities. Third, they could report how funds are being used within the various levels of government. Lastly, they could report on operations and financial position of the government. Essentially, it seems that the role of a performance auditor will help improve performance, reduce costs, and help organizations make more informed decisions.

In my view, the role of a performance auditor is extremely important because when government organizations are faced with constrained resources (due to changes in the economy and/or unpredicted revenue shortfalls) it will be vital that the organization is achieving efficiency and effectiveness in the employment of available resources."
