Case: The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed many problems and shortcomings with the way our current societies are organized. The poor and marginalized continue to suffer the most, while the wealthy and well-connected can avoid many of the dire consequences of the spread of the virus.
One issue that has plagued numerous countries is the dissemination of information (and false information) about the virus, how it spreads, the efficacy of the vaccine and preventative measures like face masks, and how we should change the infrastructure of our societies to address future potential pandemics. The spread of false and misleading information has led many to question not merely the damaging effects of the virus but also what even taking happening in the world. Facts are disputed, and it's difficult to tell what is true or not.
1. A short passage addressing the problem of information distribution and dissemination in the age of COVID-19. passage should first outline the problem we're facing. For example, is the problem simply a deadly virus?
2. Or is the problem false information about the virus? Or is the problem that technology companies like Facebook and Twitter make money from controversies and clicks such that the truth of the information spread doesn't matter? Or is the problem something else entirely?
3. After outlining the problem, a creative solution to resolve or at least mitigate the problem. What actions should our governments take? Towards whom - individuals or companies? What actions should individuals take in their own lives? Being sure to try to grapple with the fullest extent of the problem.
Finally, a new way that information about the virus could be distributed and spread. Explanation should be creative
4. Pose a potential objection to what is proposed and then briefly respond to that objection.
