Needing help responding to these two discussion post responses

1, A. What's your opinion of Oregon's physician-assisted suicide law? According to research, the Oregon's physician-assisted suicide law is a law that allows individuals to end their lives through a lethal dose of medication. I am not in agreement with the Oregon's physician-assisted suicide law. In my opinion, you are agreeing to take your own life, instead of letting nature take it's course. You have to have an illness that will lead to death within six months, but things could turn for the best. I have seen it happened within my own family.

B. Regardless of whether you favor or oppose the law, which level of government-federal or state-should have the authority to decide this issue? I think the federal government should have the authority to decide this issue. That way, if any of the states decide to adhere to this law, they won't be allowed to do so. The federal government laws apply to the United States.

2. In my opinion, this law should cease to exist as it goes against the principles regarding life. However, under the Death with Dignity Act, the self-administering of medications to commit suicide does not compute as suicide but as an ending of life. This law is described as physician-assisted suicide, granting individuals a legal means to death. It would be my stance that, Physicians are to preserve life contrary to the actions associated with the Death with Dignity Act. Granted, I understand that such a decision would rest exclusively upon the individual, but I concur with others who cast their arguments regarding this debate.

However, The Death with Dignity Act is governed by state legislation; in 2017, some federal lawmakers attempted to pass legislation prohibiting physician-assisted suicide. During that time, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that would have criminalized assisting patients in ending their lives. Congress would establish that assisted suicide places everyone, including those most vulnerable, at risk of deadly harm as it challenges the integrity of the health care system. Albeit this bill did not pass Congress, further analysis of this subject matter should be considered. The federal government should have the authority to determine this issue.
