Argument: Many Latin America countries face difficult times with the market, needing them to shift to market-oriented policies-neoliberalism. Argentina experienced one of the largest debts from any other country. They were one of the most developed countries and shifted to becoming a country that's considered part of the Third World and their economy fell into depression. They shifted to neoliberalism from a dictatorship. Argentina had a determination to recover from an economic recession and crises and believed that turning to neoliberalism, could help alleviate their problem. However, neoliberalism is not the answer to solving both countries crisis. Argentina had a major economic crisis that was considered of crisis of neoliberalism. In "Rise and Collapse of Neoliberalism in Argentina" by Miguel Teubal, he states "[this was a] crisis that reflects the collapse of the neoliberal model drastically implemented in the 1990s (173)."
