Quesiton: A 10-year, $10,000 bond was issued at a nominal interest rate of 8% compounded semiannually. Last year, I bought it for $8580, just after the previous owner had received the fourth interest payment. I just received my second interest payment. If I sell it now, the price would be set to yield a nominal 10% rate of return. I believe that interest rates will drop and that I can sell it in a year for $10,000. What is my expected IRR for the year?
