Please help me understand what is meant for me to do for this assignment please.
If your construct was depression, you would need to pick some possible items that would help you to determine if your client was clinically depressed.
Out of all of the possible factors (the domain covered by your construct), what are some questions (sampling) you might ask? Would you look at gender, age, activity level, eating patterns, sleep patterns, etc.?
What are some other resources that support your decisions to include these factors (peer reviewed journal articles in which similar factors were examined), and how you would measure them (T/F, 1-5, etc.)? Why would this be a good scale?
Next, you would formats the items into an instrument with which could be used to query respondents, and so on.
In describing how you would establish validity of the tool the team is creating, you might apply some of the points mentioned in the text under Addressing Concerns about Classroom Tests. In describing the methods used for item selection, you might apply points about writing items and whether or not cut-off scores would be used, and in describing how item selection would be evaluated, you could also apply material about item analysis from the text.
