Problem: Disease can be transmitted through the water we drink and swim in, the food we eat, the air we breathe and by contact with infected vectors and other humans. Public health practitioners seek to protect society from all of these exposures and risks but this can be a daunting job. Select a disease that you believe poses a great threat to the health of the residents of New Jersey. Discuss its mode of transmission and what is currently known about reducing or preventing its transmission. Do you feel these measures are adequate? If so, why? If not, propose additional measures that can be taken or how measures can be improved to reduce transmission of this disease.
