A demolition crew decides to take a break for lunch and leave their wrecking ball in suspension from the top of crane, instead of securing it on the ground. The crane cable length is 50 m, and the wrecking ball mass is 1000 kg. A significant gust of wind displaces the wrecking ball by a small amount, and then the gust is nearly gone. What is the kinetic energy of the ball at the bottom of the swing if the ball is displaced to a maximum of about 0.5o due to the single gust and (b) what is the tension in the cable?
