An air conditioner can produce a 120 kJ/min cooling effect while rejecting 2.5kW of heat. What is its COP and the electricity it consumes? An inventor claims to have designed a system which can produce the same cooling rate but consumes only 0.05kW electricity to maintain a house temperature of 18oC when the outdoor temperature is 30oC.
