In the contemporary issue project, students will select, propose, and explain what issue connected to justice and equity in the they plan to research this semester.

In the form, students must be prepared to answer the following questions:

1. What is the issue or problem you plan to research?

2. How do you see this issue or problem connected to equity and justice?

3. Why is this issue or problem personally and/or professionally important to your practice?

4. How will you be thoughtful to resist engaging in deficit-oriented frames about students, teachers, and communities with this project?

5. What are you excited to learn more about in this project?

Examples of possible issues:

Supporting gender diversity in early childhood classrooms.

Teaching about race and racism with young children.

Early childhood teacher working conditions.
