Following this post, answer the questions separately:
For this discussion, I chose "language." The component of language I have chosen is "syntax."
Syntax is the grammatical structure of a language, including the rules for combining words to form phrases and sentences (Lally & Valentine-French, 2019). It fits into our conception of language as a fundamental aspect of linguistic communication. Without proper syntax, language would be difficult to understand and produce.
I chose syntax because it is an essential aspect of language that allows for efficient and effective communication. Also, it provides the rules for combining words to form grammatically correct sentences, making the message conveyed clearer and easier to understand. The syntax is part of productive language, as it involves the creation of sentences through the use of grammar rules. The ability to produce grammatically correct sentences demonstrates an individual's mastery of syntax rules.
The use of syntax would be located in the language regions of the brain, including Broca's and Wernicke's areas. These regions play a critical role in language production and comprehension and are involved in processing syntax and grammatical structure (Lally & Valentine-French, 2019).

Question 1: My question is what happens if that part of the brain is damaged when the child is young, would that affect speech?
Question 2: How would the syntax vary for people who do not engage in verbal linguistics but who's primarily form of communication is an applied linguistics such as Sign Language? Or would it differ at all?
