You have studied and discussed a number of legal topics. In this assignment, you will receive up to 60 points for submitting a one to two-page paper on a legal topic that interests you. To receive credit, you must timely submit to the Canvas site a well written (spelling, grammar, punctuation all matter) paper about a legal topic of your choice. Your submission must properly cite a credible source (not just someone’s blog or Facebook opinion rant) and a proper citation to a law or regulation at the heart of your paper. (i.e. a statute, proposed legislation, a regulation, a Constitutional provision, etc.)
Your topic should be something of interest to you. Acceptable examples include (but absolutely are not limited to):

There is a Supreme Court judicial appointment pending. What is the process to confirm the nominee? Why do we care about who is appointed? What are the thoughts on any pending nominees and why?
What Supreme Court cases are pending (or have recently been ruled upon) that interest you and how might they affect our lives?
What is meant by “tort reform” and what is being done about it?
