Define and explain what "foreign policy" is compared to "domestic policy". From what "perspective" does former President Trump define the national interest and how does it differ, if at all, from President Biden's perspective. Explain that perspective. What is "groupthink" as it relates to foreign policy decision making? How might it impact President Trump's foreign policy? President Xi of China has recently threatened and attempted to impose more repressive measures in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is part of the "one country, two systems" approach taken by Xi toward the management of Hong Kong as a separate administrative unit of China. Hong Kong's pro-democracy protestors are seen as a threat to the legitimacy of the Chinese Communist Party's leadership. Given that:

a. What are human rights? Define and explain.

b. What are the types of human rights that Xi seeks to likely eliminate against the pro-democracy protestors?

c. Does President Xi use the rational model of foreign policy decision making as he addresses matters with Hong Kong, or the United States? If so, how? If not, then how does Xi undertake foreign policy?
