A beam is rotating about its center (like a big fan blade). It has a mass M and a length L. You and a friend are trying to make a daring escape and you each fall at the same time and grab hold of one end of the beam.

a) what is expression for the initial moment of inertia of the system before you and your friend fall onto the fan?

b) what is expression for the final moment of inertia of the system ( now that you and your friend are on it)?

c)The beam has a mass of 45kg, a length of 10m, an angular velocity of 10 rotations per second, and you and your friend have the same mass; what is the angular velocity with you and your friend on the beam (you don't have to change to radians for this problem keep it in rotations/sec).
