For this week, I have decided to put risk management as our discussion. I wonder if JIT (Just in Time) works or not these days because we experience so many supply chain issues..(This is not related to your discussion item. Just thinking about this lately)

What is/was your experience in supply chain disruptions (If you don't have the experience, you can talk about your personal daily experience)?

If you are working in purchasing department at an automotive company and you are working with supplier A (You are buying fasteners from the supplier) In this scenario, what would you do? In this case, you are the customer. What do you think is the best way to mitigate these risks?

Supplier A tells you this "We are having so many issues with manpower. Most people we hire quit and they never come back, therefore, we can't produce the parts on time to ship to you."
Supplier A also tells you this "Our raw material suppliers are having issues and the supplier is located overseas and it will take 7 weeks by ocean freight and we are going to delay shipment to you. We are not able to ship parts to meet your requirements".
