Question1
An isolated large-plate capacitor (not linked to anything) originally has a potential difference of 1110 volts with an air gap of 2 mm. Then a plastic slab 1 mm thick, with dielectric constant 3.5, is inserted into middle of the air gap. Location 1 is at the left plate of the capacitor, location 2 is at left edge of the plastic slab, location 3 is at the right edge of the slab, and location 4 is at the right plate of the capacitor. All of these locations are near to center of the capacitor. Compute following potential differences.
Question2
A pendulum consists of a 320 grams solid ball 15 centimeters in diameter suspended by a basically massless string 80 centimeters long. Compute the period of the pendulum treating it first as an effortless pendulum and then as a physical pendulum. What is error in the simple pendulum approximation?
A sphere of radius R is uniformly charged to a total charge of Q. It is made to spin about an axis that passes through its center with an angular speed ω. Find the magnitude of the resulting magnetic field at the center of the sphere.
