Problem

Why do you agree with the following?

What is data redundancy ? It occurs when the same piece of data exists in multiple places.

Why is it an important concept? It ensures an organization can provide continued operations or services in the event something happens to its data. However, it could cause data inconsistency , which can provide a company with unreliable and/ or meaningless information. If this were to happen it could cause problems with shipping orders, financial statements, and data that could populate to more copies. But, if it is used carefully and correctly it is a great tool to use to keep up with data in more than just one place.
