Art was not always as mysterious and subjective as it is today. Throughout most of history, Art has served a specific purpose within society. Only within the 20th Century and beyond that Art experience a powerful transformation in its content and sense. Today, Art is often challenging to define. However, if we examine Art throughout human history, we can come up with some primary purposes of Art.
