The Santa Barbara Public Health office knows that in any given month, of the 15,500 senior citizens living in Santa Barbara County, 13% of them need assistance in order to travel outside their home for everyday activities, such as getting groceries, or going to their doctor or vaccination site.

a. If we let X be the number of senior citizens in Santa Barbara County that need assistance in any given month, and assume that the seniors needing assistance are independent, state the exact distribution of X. Include any parameter values, but you do not need to verify any criteria.

b. What is an appropriate distribution (include the parameter value(s)) to approximate the exact distribution of X ? Verify any relevant criteria.

c. What is the probability that more than 2,500 senior citizens will need assistance to travel outside their home in any given month? (Use the approximate distribution from part (b).)
