Please answer in about 300 words,

2. Zay, Inc. is a major manufacturer of large truck axles. Iron ore is one of the major raw materials used in this production operation. Zay currently pays $700 per ton for iron ore. The delivery lead time from the supplier to Zay is one month (30 days). Zay estimates that it uses iron ore at a very steady rate of 2,000 tons per month (30 days). Using an annual rate of 28%, Zay has calculated that its holding cost per day is $0.54 for a ton of iron ore. The company estimates that each delivery of iron ore results in a fixed cost of $990, regardless of how many tons are ordered.

a) What is the economic order quantity for Zay, Inc.?

b) Suppose the CEO of Zay decides to dictate that iron ore must be ordered in batches equal to monthly demand (2,000 tons). Without any additional calculation, state if this decision will result in higher or lower total controllable costs than if you ordered batches equal to the economic order quantity, and explain why.
