Case Study
General instructions:
Your responsibility for this case study is to conduct a literature review about vaccines and write an essay about it. Please use the link below (click on it or copy and paste it in your web browser) to access a documentary about vaccines and use this documentary as a base to understand the importance of vaccinations.
However, it is imperative that you use other sources such as the internet, journal articles, videos, books, newspaper, etc. to answer the questions accordingly. After doing your research about the topic, you must develop an essayanswering the questions below coherently. You cannot answer these questions individually! The idea is that you use these questions to gather the most relevant information about this topic and then compile this information smoothly and objectively in your essay. Your essay must include a brief introduction, the "discussion" (which is the information you are researching about) and a brief conclusion. The following questions are your reference questions to develop your essay:
1. What is a vaccine and what's the main intention behind vaccination?
2. List and explain the different ways in which vaccines are made. Hint: there are five different ways vaccines are created.
a. From each type of vaccine, make sure you cover:
i. How they work?
ii. Advantages and disadvantages
iii. An example of each type
3. What is Herd Immunity and how can you explain this term using the relationship between immunization rate and percent of individuals acquiring an infectious agent?
4. After researching and understanding the topic, do you feel we should all be vaccinated? Yes or no, and explain, in DETAIL, why?
