Question: What is a simple response to the post below? When I think about receiving an ego boosting message, it is hard to not mention the messages my dad sends out to me. Every morning my dad makes sure to send me motivating and loving text messages to start the day off. Simple acts like these show that I am loved, make me aware of my value to my family, and allows me to start each and every day off in a good mood. I am very grateful for this because I truly feel that it helps me get through some bad days. When trying to single out a ego buster, an obvious choice immediately came to the top of my mind. A few months ago, I learned that I had torn a muscle in my shoulder that requires surgery to fix. This was a big blow to my self esteem because I am missing out on our baseball season here, and will not be able to play at all until next calendar year. This moment showed me that anything could be taken away in an instant and forced me to take a step back from baseball and enjoy every day life. It also made me realize that I need to live life day by day, and strive to be the best I can be every day. I remember both of these significant moments and I am very grateful for both the good and bad they have unleashed upon me, because we all need hardship, and we all need affirmation to show us that life goes on.
