You would like to genetically engineer a bacteria so it will glow in the presence of an environmental contaminant. The bacteria you select has the ability to grow in the presence of the contamination and secretes a specific enzyme in response to the contamination. You decide to use a fusion protein based system.
What is a fusion protein and how would you construct it.
Once you have your fusion protein you will need to insert into a plasmid which will serve as the reporter mechanism. Describe how you would construct this plasmid (describe the promotors, binding sites not the actual molecular techniques used to construct the plasmid) in order make the bacteria glow in the presence of contamination.
The crossed aldol condensation of acetaldehyde with benzaldehyde is aided by the fact that benzaldehyde bears no α-protons. However, a possible competitive reaction is the “selfcondensation†of two molecules of acetaldehyde.
At a temperature of 250K, the molecules of an unknown gas, Z, have an average velocity equal to that of HI at 500K. What is the identity of the gas
An organic compound has a molar mass of 150.5 g/mol and contains 11.30% hydrogen atoms by mass. How many hydrogen atoms are in each molecule of this compound?

Problem- A student collected the following data while using procedure described in this module: 27.13mL of 1.00x10^-2 M EDTA solution was required to reach the ErioT end point for titration of 25.00mL of the sample water.
Suppose you have a mixture of 2 substances. You know one of the substances is either 2-chlorobenzoic acid or diphenyl acetic acid. The second substance is either p-dibromobenzene or acenaphthylene.
Explain how would this affect your calculated value of the concentration of the sodium hydroxide solution. Would the computed concentration be too large or too small compared to the correct concentration
A certain aldose is added to an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. After equilibrium is reached it is found that there are 3 open chain sugars in the solution. Draw the enediol that is believed to be the intermediate.
On the basis of HSAB principles, forecast which species in each of the subsequent would be more soluble in water and explain the answer.
A sample of pure calcium fluoride with a mass of 15.0 g contains 7.70 g of calcium. How much calcium is contained in 45.0 g of calcium fluoride.
