  4. What is strategic inmate management? Please provide an analysis of the component parts of SIM. Why is the concept an important one? Do you believe the various components of SIM is followed in most jails or not?
  5. It is known that many offenders who come to jail are using or have used illicit drugs. Many of these actions are part of their criminal charges. In the last few years, there has been a process called Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) to assist with persons who used drugs to either facilitate their alleged crime or were addicted to drugs and used them to provide monies to purchase more drugs. If you believe it is, why is it important for MAT programs to be successful? How do you justify providing a drug user with another drug to providing the defendant an alternative to the drug they had been using. What is recognized as the mortality rate of persons using drugs and returned to the community without any sort of treatment?
