Question: Prior to the negotiation, develop a negotiating strategy, which should include, at a minimum: i. The objectives of the negotiation (i.e., what you how to achieve); ii. What information you need for the negotiation; iii. The strategy and plan of action for the negotiation (applying terms and concepts from the textbook); and iv. Possible outcomes: 1. Best possible outcome; 2. Other acceptable outcome(s); 3. Worst acceptable outcome; 4. Unacceptable outcome(s). d. Negotiate the issue. Attempt to follow your negotiating strategy and note when you deviate from that strategy. e. Write a reflection paper, which should include, at a minimum, the following information: i. Describe the issue being negotiated and provide some background information explaining why it was necessary to negotiate the issue; (5 Points) ii. Outline your negotiating strategy, including all information described in 1(c); (20 Points) iii. Explain how the actual negotiation went, whether your strategy worked, what deviations you made during the negotiation, what you would do differently next time; (10 Points) iv. Reflect on how negotiations occur in business and how you could apply lessons learned in this exercise to a professional situation in the future.
