Introduction

Is social and emotional learning necessary to be taught in the classrooms? In the article, Playing Nicely with Others: Why Schools Should Teach Social and Emotional Learning, by the New York Times", the article discussed the reasons why social and emotional learning should be necessary. What does that now look like in the classroom daily. Does that take away from other instructional time? The New York Times discussed the different reasons why and how social emotional learning is beneficial for the school, and lifetime strategies that children need to succeed. Social emotional learning also focus on different skills that helps support children behaviors they can benefit from in and outside of the classroom.
