Sally arranges for a private meeting with her coworker and her supervisor. Sally carefully explains the comments that have been made and the way that it made her feel. The coworker is initially embarrassed and angrily states that she was "just joking". Sally asks for the coworkers help and support in developing her skills as a new nurse. The coworker apologizes for being rude and promises to try to approach Sally in a different manner. The supervisor thanks them both for being willing to work together and improve communication. Things rapidly improve and Sally feels an increased sense of belonging and satisfaction in her work.
