Interpersonal Communication Assignment -

Instructions - The outcomes of COM-1162 focus on the development of self and the ability to determine one's own behaviour. The purpose of this project is to change or modify a behaviour that you are dissatisfied with or to improve on some aspect of your present behaviour. Choose one area in your communications or relationships you want to work on. This may have been identified in some of your work in the activity guide. The greater your personal motivation, the better your chance of success.

Here are a few suggestions (choose something you want to do):

• Check your responses in Section B of "Self-Portrait"
• Conflict resolution
• Better listening with children
• Improve communications in a relationship
• Showing appreciation to others

For this part: It must be a specific behaviour you want to change, not a general attitude (such as love people more).

Paper - Your final report for this project should be a minimum of THREE pages long, double spaced, include a title page and page numbers as well as include the following headings:

• Description of your feelings as you attempt to incorporate your behaviour change, and the records of the changes you are making
• Your plan for accomplishing your goal
• What your initial behaviour was
• What your final behaviour is
• What hurdles did you have in accomplishing your goal?
• How you accomplished your goal
• How you intend to make the change permanent
• Any charts or records you kept.
