You are a nurse at Beacon Hills Hospital in the Family Practice Department. Your spouse's mom is a patient in the department and has been having some medical issues. That day, she learns that she has a terminal disease that will progressively get worse (e.g., paralysis, dementia, pain, etc.) until she dies in the next 6-9 months without treatment. She communicates to you and her attending physician that she doesn't really want to go through any other treatments and is ready to die. So, you go and tell your spouse about what is happening. You and your spouse agree to adamantly try to get her to change her mind so she won't die. You even plan on speaking with the physican to make him treat her.
