1. 1. The name of the country* and the indigenous ethnic groups that lived there prior to colonization
   2. The types of social, political, and economic cultures that the indigenous groups had prior to colonization (Were they bands, tribes, chiefdoms or states? Were they food foragers, pastoralists, horticulturalists, or agriculturalists? Were they egalitarian or was their society more structured?)
   3. Who were the people that colonized this country? What were they looking for? (Land, wealth, spices, gold?)
   4. What effects did colonization have for the indigenous ethnic groups? Was it a peaceful takeover or did the colonials commit genocide to get what they wanted? What type of political system did they put in place to govern the people? How did it affect the health and well-being of the people?
   5. What has been the legacy of long-term colonial government on the indigenous people? Have they gained their independence or are they still under that colonial government?
   6. Do you think colonization has been a good thing for this country? Have there been positive effects? If so, what are they?
