Assignment - Self-Assessment Exercise Instructions
The purpose of this exercise is to have you reflect upon your past and present work and/or volunteer experiences in order to identify aspects of your work environment that have been favorable and unfavorable to you. For example, aspects that kept you excited about your job versus those that were discouraging or tasks that you were bored with versus those that kept you engaged in your job.
Please refer to the 2nd page of this assignment for a list of questions to guide you through the thinking. Please discuss the topics one by one. You should address all questions in sufficient detail to do well on this assignment. You must show evidence that the questions were reflected upon, your responses must be thoughtful, and your ideas must be communicated clearly. A grading rubric is also included to help you understand the expectations of this assignment.
Reflecting on Your Work and Career
Whatever your age and career stage, think back on your work experiences, your employers, and the roles of work in your life. Answer and discuss the topics/questions below.
If you have no previous work experience, describe your ideal job and working environment, including what skills and strengths you bring to the workforce, the type of work schedule you desire, and expectations for compensation and benefits package (and justification).
