Part I

Part II
Choosing a business research problem is critical and being able to explain they why of the problem is also important. Think through the problem.
1. Who says this is a problem?
2. What happens if this problem is not addressed? Is there a financial or people impact.
3. What has already been researched on this problem? Does this problem fill a gap in current research?
4. What is the scope of your problem? Can you narrow the focus to make it more doable (check the number of variables)?

Part III
Your research methodology and design are the manner in which you will collect data to address your identified business problem. There are three main methodologies: Qualitative, Quantitative, and Mixed and various research designs correspond to each methodology. Ensure you review each in detail.
Examine reasons why an investor would redeem a bond early and how the price reflects current market conditions. Illustrate with an example the inverse relationship between interest rate changes and bond prices and Mixed and various research designs correspond to each methodology. Part IV
Selection of your chair and committee members makes the doctoral process real and puts the goal in sight. This is a crucial step to not only keep maintain your progress after this course, but to carry you through the doctoral process. Do your due diligence. Think of your topic and research methodology and design. How do you want your chair and committee to support you? What type of support do you need? Remember, your chair is your guide, and your committee adds additional support and guidance by giving additional perspectives - all with the goal to help you be successful!

Part V
A large part of your dissertation is your literature review, which is Chapter 2. It can be very daunting to have over 100 sources to synthesize. Further, you want to create a structure and flow that not just connects the literature to your problem but also supports it. This activity for the discussion is to help you map out the topic and subtopics to your problem.

Part VI
Your role as a researcher involves how you collect data as well as how you analyze it. When collecting data, you have to safeguard both information as well as protect the safety of the participants. Although you are not doing any medical research, there are still guidelines that needs to be followed and adhered to for your study to be ethical. Be sure to complete the CITI training prior to responding to this discussion prompt.

As you near completion of this course,this is a good time to reflect and determine where you are and if there are any barriers in your path. Will you have site permission? Do you have access to the participants you need, and will you be able to get enough signups/responses within a short period of time? Do you have a heavy workload at work that can prevent you from dedicating the time you need to complete your project? Are you struggling with your topic, method/design, and direction? It is okay if you don't have any barriers but you should have questions, as there is so much more to learn.
