Introduction: For this week, we covered American history out in the West and looked at the opportunities the region offers to Americans. Moving west and doing God's work was presented as America's manifest destiny but that destiny came at what cost? Historian Eric Foner once wrote in his textbook Give Me Liberty that "nobody paid a higher price for American expansion/industrialization than Native Americans."
